On Saturday, May 1, CNN’s Michael Smerconish took to the airwaves to deliver, and CNN soon tweeted, a nearly eight-minute-long COVID harangue that began with him claiming that “WE” are “struggling to reach herd immunity” against COVID19, and saw him hint that a combination of political and corporate power might be a good mix to achieve his “immunity” goal. That combination is called…

In a panel decision that indirectly touches two key human rights, a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against state government trying to block the online dissemination of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) instructions for creating 3-D-Printed Guns. It’s something many pro-freedom people anticipated, and something Reason’s Brian Doherty explains with great alacrity.…

Among the few silver linings of the unconstitutional COVID lockdown "clouds," one of the brightest has been the transgressive parade of extremely obnoxious politicians and media elites exposing themselves on Zoom or live-stream meetings open to public view. And by “exposing” one doesn’t necessarily mean the ugly thought of leftist media darling Jeffrey Toobin literally doing so. One can mean…

Before we get into this new example of in-your-face judicial malpractice from what has historically been the most left-wing federal appeals court in the nation, let’s take a look at the Sixth Amendment to the US Constitution: In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall…

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte (R) signed legislation on April 23 that would effectively prohibit state and local “authorities,” including police, from enforcing federal bans or restrictions on firearms, ammunition, gun accessories, parts, or magazines. Sponsored by freshman State Rep. Caleb Hinkle (R), Montana House Bill 258, also called the "Montana Federal Firearm, Magazine, and Ammunition…

Why is it that the phrase, “you can’t make this stuff up,” seems to pop up more and more when watching politicians and bureaucrats? In this case, it’s the newest example of COVID crackdown hypocrisy, coming from The Chandler Unified School District in Chandler, Arizona, and Chrissy Clark and the good folks at The Daily Wire were given the heads-up to get out the word. The Chandler Unified…

Is there any area of life that politicians don’t see as an opportunity to grandstand, posture, and propose rules “for thee and not for me?” It seems as if the answer to that is a big “NO,” as the BBC and Yahoo News report on the so-called “Big Cat Public Safety Act”, a bill proposed in DC that rides the wave of popularity in the story of animal trainer “The Tiger King,” and would ban private…

As President Joe Biden, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), other leftist allies in Congress and in the pop media push the idea of expanding the U.S. Supreme Court by four seats to 13 members, allowing Biden to appoint all the new Justices and create an instant 7-6 left-collectivist majority, one liberal is standing out as a strong voice of opposition. He’s well-known George…

It’s often stunning to see how foolish politicians can be. Take Utah Governor Spencer Cox (R), who last Thursday allowed political correctness and posturing to prompt him not only to praise a race-based policy, but to deny the meaning of the word “racist,” and to claim that the team in question is a “private” business. Reports Chris Menahan, for InformationLiberation: Governor Cox was asked…

If you’ve seen a few dystopian movies, or read a few such genre books, you’re likely aware that characters often cannibalize parts from old tech. They use old gears, repurpose generators, and strip parts off cars in order to eke out meager existences in “worlds gone wrong.” The Biden administration just reinstated a federal policy that will give “researchers” your tax cash to do that with the…
