Egypt faces an historic vote Wednesday, the first free presidential vote since the toppling of former President Hosni Mubarak from power last year. Mubarak's thirty-year rule was brought to an end by a wave of protests focused in Tahrir Square in Cairo last year, but Egypt's next leader is likely to be decided by voters outside the capitol.      (h/t BBC World News )

Thousands of protesters filled the streets of Chicago Sunday chanting anti-war slogans. Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai spoke at the NATOsummit in Chicago. "Afghanistan reaffirmed its commitment to the transition process and the completion of it in 213 and the withdrawal of our partners in 2013," said Karzai, so that "Afghanistan is no longer a burden on the shoulders of the international community."
