As likely comes as no surprise, a new report recognized the sheer scale of devastation wrought by CA Gavin Newsom’s outrageous COVID-19 lockdown edicts over the past year. And, as can be seen in Don Thompson’s Associated Press story, carried by 7ABC, at least one high-profile Democrat functionary is doing something else that comes as no surprise, deflecting from the government threats, fines,…

Though Joe Biden often has proclaimed that the US government should “forgive” student loan debt, he appears to be taking a more subtle – some might call it slippery – approach to putting taxpayers on the hook for the $1.6 TRILLION in outstanding student loans that college students and grads owe the feds. As The Washington Post reports and as Zack Friedman amplifies for Forbes: According to the…

In another example of the striking schism between leftist members of the Catholic Church establishment and traditionalist adherents to Church tenets, a bishop has attacked and called for the resignation of a popular Wisconsin priest. It appears as if Father James Altman’s criticism of anti-life Democrats and his opposition to mask and lockdown mandates are what drew the ire of the bishop.…

President Biden is steering clear of Notre Dame this spring. As Michael Tennant reports for The New American, Biden opted to “turn down” the commencement speech invite from Catholic Notre Dame University as more than four-and-a-half thousand people signed a petition objecting to the pro-abortion politician’s presence on the campus. President Joe Biden turned down the opportunity to deliver…

A new National Bureau of Economic Research working paper by Bentley University economist Dhaval Dave and two co-authors concludes that there has been no statistically significant impact resulting from Governor Greg Abbot’s March decision to finally abide by his oath to the US and Texas constitutions and lift COVID occupancy, and mask mandates. No doubt, this will cause chagrin among leftists…

Many of us recall the clause in Article One of the US Constitution stating that the US government could “…coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures…” But we cannot count as part of our number the many politicians in DC or on the state or local levels. Neither can we count in our number many people working for, or associated with…

Among the many terms that come to mind when thinking about the seemingly limitless arrogant and errant statements made by Virginia Senator Tim Kaine (D), LARP stands out. LARP stands for “Live-Action Role Play”, and pertains mostly to teens and adults who enjoy dressing-up in costumes – especially medieval fantasy costumes – and pretending to engage in adventures. It’s fun, and harkens back to…

In the memorable words of television character Gomer Pyle, “Well, surprise, surprise, surprise”, the 2020 federal COVID-19-related Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) delivered nationwide by the Small Business Administration shoveled huge piles of its “CARES Act” “bailout” money to... fake businesses. Christian Britschgi, of Reason reports: That includes a crop of fictional agribusinesses…

Fans of his work know that comedian, actor, and producer Tim Allen has taken a light-hearted but strong stands in favor of individual liberty and free markets, and against cancel culture and collectivism. In response to the Supreme Court of the US (SCOTUS) announcing last Monday that it will hear a key abortion case rising out of Mississippi, Democrats in the House and Senate magically introduced legislation to codify on a federal level the centralizing and unconstitutional corruption of the 1973 Roe v. Wade SCOTUS ruling. The legislation would, in essence, federally ban any state protections for…
