There’s darkness coming for the beautiful island paradise of Hawaii. Managing Editor at the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE.org) Jon Miltimore reports that Hawaii Governor David Ige’s (D) bureaucracy is ready to shut down the state’s final coal-driven electric power plant, and replace it with a humongous battery that residents now are discovering will be fueled by… Oil. Yep. After…

In a move that the wry, pro-individualist writer Mark Twain himself might find ironically bemusing, St. Johns University in upstate New York just gave the proverbial boot to a long-time professor who read a portion of Mark Twain’s “Pudd’nhead Wilson” to her students. As the NY Post’s Dana Kenedy reports: Hannah Berliner Fischthal, an adjunct instructor at the Catholic college in Queens for 20…

At the start of May, serious people asked serious questions about the American Federation of Teachers – (AFT) the largest teachers’ union in the U.S. – possibly steering U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) policy regarding federal school closure recommendations. And now, after the revelations of what appear to be policy-effecting emails between the AFT and the CDC, the Deputy Director of the…

In yet another use of postmodernist semiotics and “critical theory” – the ideas that words can be defined to mean anything (especially to gain political leverage) and that the people saying or writing those words can be claimed to have “hidden” meanings or “inherent and unrecognized biases” behind their statements -- a “diversity” advisor hired by the Hermosa Beach City School District in Hermosa…

Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie (R) Tuesday led a principled rebellion against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her empress-style edict that all elected representatives must wear masks in the House Chamber or suffer a $500-per-violation fine. And Massie, an MIT grad who holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, did more than resist Her Highness’s command, he pulled back the…

In a move that sheds light not only on how inappropriately scared many corporate heads are of the flu-like risk of COVID-19, but shows the sky-high ignorance of many executives when it comes to questions people have about the mRNA-based gene-vector jabs for COVID19, Delta Airlines recently announced that it will require all new employees to be vaccinated as a condition of employment. As Tracy…

In a perfect example of not just authoritarianism, but also a misunderstanding of private property and voluntary association (a misunderstanding that seems widespread through the halls of most governments), the rulers of Ontario, Canada have issued a new edict banning outdoor recreational activity until at least June 2. As Breitbart’s Gabrielle Reyes reports, the nightmare will continue, thanks…

For some odd reason, the oft-heard line “Do as I say, not as I do” keeps coming to mind when one reads, or sees, or hears, tales of politicians.  It happens so much that, if one were to fall prey to a moment of weakness – or mental clarity in this insane world of COVID crackdowns – one might think that the arrogance and conceit of politicians walk hand in hand with their ignorance of liberty and…

University of Toronto Psychology professor, and well-known proponent of individual liberty and free speech, Dr. Jordan Peterson rose to world prominence when, in 2016, he publically opposed Canada’s obnoxious “pronoun” law C-16, which mandated that any “regulated” business in the nation have its employees use the “pronouns” that customers demanded. The bill was bad enough, since it abrogated the…

Michael Tennant of The New American, and Anthony Watts, of the notable climate change site WattsUpWithThat, write that the U.S. National Interagency Fire Center (did I miss that in the Constitution?) appears to have been caught cutting off early years of fire stats, evidently to lend credence to claims of “more fires due to anthropogenic climate change.” Notes Tennant: Created in 1965, the…
