In the past 24 hours, West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin (D) appears to have weakened his well-promoted resistance to his party changing from 60 to 50 the vote threshold what would break Senate filibusters on most bills. It’s a complicated game, and Manchin has been playing it like a master, almost as if he were a seasoned politician posing as “moderate” while using his “on the fence” act to…

President Biden and his administrators have proposed showering $225 billion on government-subsidized daycare over the next 10 years. Here’s why that’s an immoral, unconstitutional, impractical idea. First, whether daycare is depicted as “helping parents in need” (whatever politicians mean by that – every parent needs something) or depicted as “education,” no one has a right to the fruits of…

Proverbial “hats off” to Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT), for grilling former California Attorney General, and now U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), Xavier Beccera on the subject of whether partial-birth abortion is illegal in the U.S.  On June 10, Daines pressed this former top-prosecutor for California and newly sainted head of the unconstitutional HHS, asking a simple question: is…

Here’s the newest entry in the “it’s insane to rely on government to hold back itself” file. On Tuesday, June 8, the seven-member “California Citizen’s Compensation Commission” voted to increase by 4.2 percent the annual tax-sponging salaries of Governor Gavin Newsom (D) and the members of the California Assembly.  Because, who wouldn’t want to be certain that, after breaching his oaths to…

If you composed a screed claiming that possessing certain Asian, African, or Jewish characteristics was “a malignant, parasitic-like” condition “with no cure,” do you think you would escape widespread opprobrium, or find even a publisher for such nonsense? You would if you traveled in left-wing psychoanalytic circles and if you sent your piece to the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic…

The sad saga of California’s “high speed rail” boondoggle continues as Joe Biden reverses Trump Administration policy, restoring $929 million federally-procured tax dollars to the state’s massive waste of resources. MRCTV readers and viewers will recall that I have reported on this rail project twice before – a plan that, according to politicians ranging from former Governor Jerry Brown to…

As many predicted, authoritarians in New York City have begun to create a caste system when it comes to those who have taken one of the experimental mRNA COVID19 jabs, and those who have not. And the reality of it is on video. On June 9, journalist Tara Szczepanski posted on her Twitter feed first-hand video of her approaching the free outdoor concert being performed by the NY Philharmonic…

Americans often use – and rail against – hyperbolic claims that the statements or acts of a politician, or bureaucrat, are Hitlerian or Nazi-like. But, almost as often, these analogies actually are appropriate, and the fact that U.S. citizens either don’t recognize this, or they have become acquiescent to government operating in tyrannical ways, is nearly as frightening. Thus, in a new,…

The tax-sponges at National Public Radio seem to be a bit schizophrenic. Simultaneously and repeatedly, they dwell on their leftist disgust for “colonialism” – something that usually acts as an avatar for what they, like Marx, errantly believe is “capitalism” – while they close their eyes to the fact that NPR is one of the most prominent examples of colonization in the modern world. Indeed,…

Federal District Judge Roger T. Benitez’s June 4 ruling striking down California’s “ban” on so-called “assault rifles” has evinced reactions among pop media figures and from Governor Gavin Newsom (D) that are worth dissecting. First, let’s dismiss the pat, and far-too accepted, line that this gun ban was a “ban” at all. Over, and over, history shows us that prohibition of things such as firearms…
