Yet again, Joe Biden’s tales appear to include one that’s tall. But at least this one befits the even taller tales that Amtrak is constitutionally sanctioned or has ever turned a profit. As Yaron Steinbuch reports for the New York Post: President Biden appeared to go off the rails with a heartfelt story about reaching 1.5 million miles on Amtrak and being personally congratulated by a…

Perfectly befitting an organization that shuts down free will and operates in every way contrary to the Golden Rule and the Ten Commandments, Joe Biden’s administration finally showed how empty the federal government’s “Day of Prayer” sham truly is. Alex Nitzberg reports for JustTheNews: President Biden has issued a National Day of Prayer proclamation in which the word ‘God’ does not appear…

The dark storm clouds of unconstitutional, immoral government involvement in “science funding” and its concomitant political manipulation have been around for a long time – and so has Anthony Fauci as the head of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). But now, a new claim has erupted from that cloud mass like a lightning bolt. Please beware, the following is…

One of my first published pieces on political-economics was a story called “Plum Deal” that appeared in “The Freeman,” circa 2002. It focused on the fact that the Bush administration was preparing to pay plum growers to intentionally not grow plums. Because there was a “glut” of plums, and because the Bush administration cared not a whit about economics or the U.S. Constitution, they were …

It’s with a mix of frustration and mild amusement that one sees repeated examples of shallow thinking among collectivist authoritarians. The fundamental immorality of collectivist philosophy – from the promotion of tax theft, to controls and “regulations” and threats made against property owners -- always is manifest, but the manner in which many authoritarians abbreviate their thinking so that…

On Saturday, May 1, CNN’s Michael Smerconish took to the airwaves to deliver, and CNN soon tweeted, a nearly eight-minute-long COVID harangue that began with him claiming that “WE” are “struggling to reach herd immunity” against COVID19, and saw him hint that a combination of political and corporate power might be a good mix to achieve his “immunity” goal. That combination is called…

In a panel decision that indirectly touches two key human rights, a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against state government trying to block the online dissemination of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) instructions for creating 3-D-Printed Guns. It’s something many pro-freedom people anticipated, and something Reason’s Brian Doherty explains with great alacrity.…

Among the few silver linings of the unconstitutional COVID lockdown "clouds," one of the brightest has been the transgressive parade of extremely obnoxious politicians and media elites exposing themselves on Zoom or live-stream meetings open to public view. And by “exposing” one doesn’t necessarily mean the ugly thought of leftist media darling Jeffrey Toobin literally doing so. One can mean…

Before we get into this new example of in-your-face judicial malpractice from what has historically been the most left-wing federal appeals court in the nation, let’s take a look at the Sixth Amendment to the US Constitution: In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall…

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte (R) signed legislation on April 23 that would effectively prohibit state and local “authorities,” including police, from enforcing federal bans or restrictions on firearms, ammunition, gun accessories, parts, or magazines. Sponsored by freshman State Rep. Caleb Hinkle (R), Montana House Bill 258, also called the "Montana Federal Firearm, Magazine, and Ammunition…
