The politicians running the Canadian government sure do seem dedicated to showing folks in other nations how to build the “road to serfdom” and lead the way in the decline of western civilization. In 2016, they passed the bill, now statute, C16, which mandates that all state employees or people working at businesses “regulated” by the Canadian government (pretty mush all) must use pronouns that…

“California lawmaker introduces bill making voting mandatory.” The Yahoo headline – reposted from The Week – says it all. Almost. For many Americans, it’s the predicate clause of the sentence that vexes and, while it is important, it’s really only half of the problem. As the syntax indicates, the subject "California lawmaker" also is important, and is the heart of the trouble, because far…

Politicians are prone to making errors when trying to look familiar with something about which they know very little. In 2010, Barack Obama embarrassed himself by claiming to be a Chicago White Sox fan, even as he found it impossible to name one player, bounded into “also” liking the Cubs, and then flubbed the name of the Sox home stadium, calling Comiskey Park “Cominsky Park”. But this…

Many Americans recognize California as the “incubator” for collectivist proposals that soon spread like a virus across the nation, even while its economic problems mount as a direct result of these leftist statutes and tax thievery. So it comes as no surprise that one of the loci of CA collectivism should offer us another warning of possible “Things to Come” across the US, this time, with the…

Those who avoid dinosaur media and, instead, get their information from alternatives, likely are aware of the shocking revelation that the Canadian government just interrogated Rebel News publisher and reporter Ezra Levant for having the temerity to write an actual BOOK about leftist pinup Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during an election cycle. They also are likely aware that Canada has no…

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) seems not to have acquired the wisdom that Lao Tsu, the 6th Century BC proto-libertarian and founder of Taoism observed: The more laws and restrictions there are, the poorer people become. The more rules and regulations, the more thieves and robbers. In fact, Warren just introduced a new bill that collects numerous other legislators’ attacks on the…

If anyone wants an example of why it’s not just anti-constitutional, but dangerous and unethical, to allow the Federal Communications Commission to exist, they need look no further than this breaking story. As official government web info reveals, Congresswoman Kathy Castor (D-FLA) just sent a letter to Google/YouTube head Sundar Pichai recommending that he make YouTube suppress videos that…

Neither the original, British, version of “The Office”, nor its American counterpart could compare to this. The “inclusivity-minded”, social-justice-sensitive head of the Chartered Management Institute – a non-governmental professional organization located about an hour’s drive north of Liverpool, England – just told BBC Radio listeners that UK business owners should crack down on male “…

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) has generated a truckload of media attention for her recent announcement that she refuses to pay dues to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). But is this just a flash-in-the-pan, ego-driven battle of personalities, the kind of story with which the pop media typically wastes time, or is it actually a valuable, bigger-picture,…
