In the never-ending cycle of politicians donning their “Holier-Than-Thou” armor, and claiming that the “opposition” (a key word, for later reference) is politicizing a tragedy, even as said same politicians engage in precisely that offensive behavior, we can, of course, now place certain Democrats’ rhetoric regarding Trump, the CDC, and the Wuhan Coronavirus, Covid19. As Eric Boehm reports…

On Monday, February 24, 2020 the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the Trump administration's move to withhold Title X taxpayer funding from medical organizations that also engage in abortions. It's been a long road to get there.   In December, President Trump saw Lawrence Van Dyke appointed to the long-collectivist, 29 member, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. This was his…

They seem to be unable to help themselves. From the first minute of the February 25 non-debate in Charlottesville, SC, the seven Democrats on the stage appeared genetically designed to skirt economic facts, avoid the supposed rules of the US Constitution, and to be contemptuous of individual rights. Straight out of the gate, socialist Bernie Sanders told the crowd that he thinks Chinese…

Groupthink: the term coined by George Orwell in his dark dystopian novel “1984” to describe the inexorable decline of individual thought at the hands of imposed collectivist so-called “truth”. It appears Twitter hipster-head Jack Dorsey and his fellow Twits are eager to impose it. As Reason’s Scott Shackford reports, Twitter recently acknowledged that a satirical video released by former…

Among the many well-known songs by musical group The Talking Heads is “Once In A Lifetime”, which sees lead singer David Byrne repeating the refrain, “Same as it ever was” as Jerry Harrison’s raw keyboards rise like an apocalyptic aural tide. That phrase certainly applies to the “Talking Heads” of the dinosaur “news” media. As John Sexton reports for Hot Air, a new “study” by three university…

In a perfect example of how so-called “pro-choice” collectivists haven’t the faintest clue about ethics when it comes to life, an Alabama state politician has introduced a bill that would FORCE men to get vasectomies after age 50 or their third child, whichever might come first. According to WSFA: HB 238, filed by Rep. Rolanda Hollis (D-Birmingham), says the bill would require a man to…

A Democrat in the Illinois State Legislature has filed a bill called HB4571 that, even as it infuriates and makes one wonder how far she would like to take her controlling mentality, offers observers a great opportunity to learn, or remind themselves, of a profound economic lesson. As Reason’s Christian Britschgi reports: ‘No gas may be pumped at a gas station in this State unless it is…

AGAIN, as it has been for decades, the smear-laden, Big Media focus on skin color and other surface factors of the population – rather than the focus on merits of one’s ideas and the content of one’s character – pushes us, the folks who prefer merits and character, to deal with their blather. And this time, a name talk radio listeners know is standing up to defend his employer and friend of…

The politicians running the Canadian government sure do seem dedicated to showing folks in other nations how to build the “road to serfdom” and lead the way in the decline of western civilization. In 2016, they passed the bill, now statute, C16, which mandates that all state employees or people working at businesses “regulated” by the Canadian government (pretty mush all) must use pronouns that…

“California lawmaker introduces bill making voting mandatory.” The Yahoo headline – reposted from The Week – says it all. Almost. For many Americans, it’s the predicate clause of the sentence that vexes and, while it is important, it’s really only half of the problem. As the syntax indicates, the subject "California lawmaker" also is important, and is the heart of the trouble, because far…
