She first advised them to 'admit this whole episode was just nutty,' and later accused Republicans of 'pushing some insane stuff.' The CNN anchor omitted any mention of the curriculum during her program.

CNN correspondent Jeanne Moos devoted an entire segment to the viral Obama as the Joker image on the 4 August 2009 edition of Situation Room, and zeroed in on man-on-the-street reactions to it, all of whom expressed leftist horror at the picture. Moos herself suggested that "maybe it's time to give the Joker joke a rest." NewsBusters.org made a brief appearance during her segment.

CNN anchor Rick Sanchez concluded Tuesday's Newsroom program with an admission of sorts about his misrepresentation on the previous day of John McCain's words about the GOP's outreach to Latinos: "I paraphrased to my colleague Roland Martin that McCain had said the party needs to recruit 'competent' Hispanics....He didn't use the word 'competent' when he said that."

On the 29 July 2009 edition of CBS's Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, CNN's Christiane Amanpour again claimed that she was a nonpolitical entity: 'I know it's very...trendy to wear your politics on your sleeve right now, but I just don't.' When Ferguson favorably compared her to the late Walter Cronkite, Amanpour gushed, 'He was so special. I think we really will miss him.'

Blitzer inquired whether his “worst fears [had] come true.” Giuliani answered, “In many respects, it’s much worse than I thought.” The anchor merely replied, “Really?”
