Garth Brooks defended his decision to sell Bud Light at his bar in Nashville on his Facebook show “Garth Brooks Inside Studio G” after receiving pushback for saying he plans to “serve every brand of beer” at his “Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk.”
In the midst of the Bud Light boycott due to its partnership with Dylan Mulvaney, this country star said that “diversity and inclusiveness” describe him while addressing the backlash over his decision.
“I get it. Everybody’s got their opinions, but inclusiveness is always going to be me,” Brooks said. “I think diversity is the answer to the problems that are here, and the answer to the problems that are coming.”
Brooks’ second point was about being a bar owner.
“I am a bar owner now,” he said. “Are we going to have the most popular beers in the thing? Yes. It is not our call if we do it or not. It’s the patron’s call, the bosses. If they don’t want it then I gotta go to the distributor saying, ‘Your stuff’s not selling.’ And then action gets taken.”

Brooks finishes his comments with the following:
So here’s the deal man, if you want to come to ‘Friends at Low Places’ come in. Come in with love. Come in with tolerance, patience – come in with an open mind.
And if you’re one of those people who just can’t do that, I get it. If you ever are one of those people who want to try it, come. Let’s go have some fun.
This conversation followed his appearance on Billboard’s Country Live in Conversation where he made it clear that he’s creating a “place you feel safe in.”
“Our thing is this, if you come into this house, love one another,” Brooks said. “If you’re an a**hole, there are plenty of other places on lower Broadway to go.”
Fellow country singer John Rich responded to Brooks’ decision on FOX News Digital.
“If Garth is serving Bud Light in his bar, that’s fine. Garth can do that. Garth might find out not many people are going to order it,” Rich said. “And at the end of the day, you have to put things in your establishment that people are going to purchase if you’re going to run a successful business. So, he might find that out.”
