Sen. Cory Booker (D- N.J.) wants those from outside his state and party to know that he's been reaching out to understand them. He says he has travelled the rural south and west and has read 'Hillbilly Elegy'.

Elitist much, Cory?

If you are not familiar, J. D. Vance's 'Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis', is described as "a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis—that of white working-class Americans," by it's publisher.

Booker made the comments at the Center for American Progress Ideas Conference Tuesday.
