A panelist on NBC’s Meet the Press asserted Attorney General Merrick Garland faces a stark choice: Indict Trump and get a violent backlash, presumably from Trump supporters. But if he doesn’t indict, that would mean the end to the rule of law.

Eddie Glaude Jr., professor of African American Studies at Princeton University and an MSNBC political analyst, maintained Trump “needs to be indicted or he’s broken the law in some way, but there’s a threat of violence if you indict him,” but “if you don’t indict him, there is the end of the rule of law. So it’s the tragic choice that Merrick Garland faces.”
