CBS on Sunday cued up former Congresswoman Liz Cheney’s to affirm that voters cannot simultaneously support the U.S. Constitution and Donald Trump’s presidential bid. In a segment promoting her new book, Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning, John Dickerson inquired: “If a person is a Member of Congress and they have sworn an oath to defend the Constitution, can they defend the Constitution and also endorse Donald Trump?”
Cheney replied: “No, it’s inconsistent.” She elaborated: “You can’t be for Donald Trump and for the Constitution. You have to choose.” Dickerson then noted: “It’s a lot of people who are choosing Donald Trump.” To which, Cheney lamented: “Yeah, it is.”
