At an August 19 press conference, ABC News correspondent Tom Llamas upbraided Donald Trump for using the phrase "anchor baby," telling him it was "hurtful" and "offensive." Llamas incorporated the exchange into his report for Good Morning America the next day:

“We asked Trump about a phrase he's using more and more — 'anchor babies' — to describe children of undocumented immigrants born in the U.S. Trump says the parents have the child so they're not deported. [to Trump] That’s an offensive term? People find that hurtful....Look it up in the dictionary. It’s offensive!”
