You Have to See What Happened at This Hockey Game

Ben Graham | April 13, 2015

As the Coyotes were getting ready for the final game of this season against the Ducks, something amazing happened.

Two long-time fans of the Coyotes were given the opportunity to drop the puck for this game. They were introduced to the audience as the proud parents of U.S. Army Sergeant Dan Urman. You can see the suspicion on Mom’s face as they say it.

The parents get to the center of the ice and realize that they haven’t been given the puck. That’s when (get those tissues ready) Sergeant Urman sets foot on the ice and floors his astounded parents. Dad drops to a knee for only a moment before he runs to (literally) tackle his son in a bear hug of an embrace. Mom, being a mom, waited patiently for her turn to give her boy a calmer sort of affection.

They return to center ice, the puck in the Sergeant’s hand, and meet with the players briefly before dropping the puck.

The now reunited family retreated from the ice and watched the game, together.
