Folks, I’m 1000 percent for freedom of speech. Any of you who have read my work over the years know that. I don’t call for people to be get fired, be deplatformed or any other form of “cancellation.” But, that doesn’t mean that I don’t think people should keep some thoughts to themselves, especially when said thought is as stupid as what this next muppet is putting out there.
Baroness Jones, a woman who is only classified by The Daily Mail as a “Green Party peer,” got up in the House of Lords Wednesday evening and actually suggested that the next time there’s a bill up for a vote that the lawmakers in charge of the bill should include a mandate (pun very much intended) that men shouldn’t be allowed out of their homes past 6 p.m.
In the week that Sarah Everard was abducted and, we suppose, killed—because remains have been found in a woodland in Kent — I argue that, at the next opportunity for any Bill that is appropriate, I might put in an amendment to create a curfew for men on the streets after 6 pm. I feel this would make women a lot safer, and discrimination of all kinds would be lessened.
Jones’ call came after 33-year-old Sarah Everard was tragically abducted and possibly “we suppose, killed” following the discovery of remains. Whatever the outcome is for Everard is awful and no one with any sense about them would joke about what might’ve happened to her.
However, maybe Jones should rejoin the real world where the police in the U.K. have been neutered from properly helping keep people safe by not being allowed to carry firearms - sometimes by choice - while also worrying more about “troubling” social media posts than the astronomical rise in crime in London alone.
This translates to the U.S. as well with heightened calls to “defund the police” in the last year or so, only leading to rising crime in cities that have acquiesced to the riotous, far-left outrage mobs.
Keep hamstringing people from defending themselves and crime will continue to rise, no matter what edicts overbearing governments around the world put in place.
