If you ever felt like shaking a fist at the elitist politicians and bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. who thumb their noses at the working man while raking in cushy tax-funded salaries and spending billions on pet projects, you’re certainly not the only one.

As evidenced by the massive crowd drawn this weekend by Oliver Anthony, the Virginia native who became an overnight sensation just last week with his gritty ballad, “Rich Men North of Richmond.” The soulful singer, who was a virtual nobody mere days ago, has earned millions of views across just about every social media platform with his blue collar anthem, which quickly rose to the #1 song on iTunes and the most listened to song in the world. The tune has been such a hit with everyday working Americans that the leftist media has already come out in droves to label it a “right-wing screed" and discredit anyone who might give it airtime.

But it looks like Anthony - and his millions of overnight fans - don’t much care. The former factory worker-turned country singer's latest show drew a huge crowd at a North Carolina farmer's market over the weekend, where Anthony joked he’d just played to about 20 people back in June.

And if his powerful anti-D.C. message didn't hit hard enough, the country crooner launched his performance by cracking open a Bible and reading a passage from the Psalms.

But while “Rich Men North of Richmond” might strike a resounding chord with those who feel they’ve been forgotten by Washington and who no longer recognize the country they love, the moment that stole the show was the entire crowd joining in with Anthony to sing the National Anthem.

While leftists and their media lapdogs might brand "Rich Men North of Richmond" as nothing more than a right-wing diatribe for disgruntled Trump voters and backwoods hicks, there's no denying the song has echoed across the nation, giving voice to millions of ordinary people who're sick of being ignored, dismissed, and bullied.

They - and Anthony, it seems - aren't going away anytime soon.
