There are all sorts of creative and elaborate wedding proposals on YouTube - ranging from choreographed flash mobs to mass sing-alongs.
With each original proposal that goes viral, the bar for the average person gets raised even higher.
So when a man tried to propose to his girlfriend using a McDonald's Chicken Sandwich, it came as no surprise that his significant other would be none too pleased.
Joseph Ann met his girlfriend two years ago in Los Angeles. Not the best planner, so he says, the two ended their first date at McDonald’s.
His girlfriend joked for months thereafter that Joseph would probably propose to her using a Chicken Nugget box. He thought it'd be cute to do just that - but with one minor change.
Unfortunately, it didn’t go as well as he had hoped.
“She didn't love it like the way I thought she would,” he said.
“We agreed to wait longer until it's time to get engaged.”
Ouch.
