Two police officers were shot this morning at a Ferguson protest. The protest comes after the resignation of the town’s former police chief, Thomas Jackson.

One officer was shot in his face while the other was hit in his shoulder. Both were taken to a local hospital where they both remained conscious. St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said he didn’t have further details about their conditions but described their injuries as "very serious," but not life-threatening.

Police are searching for the gunman. No suspect has been identified.
