Twitter Says They Won't Lift Their Ban on Trump - Even If He Runs Again

Twitter barred former President Donald Trump from their platform in early January, accusing him of inciting the Capitol Hill riots and contending that allowing him to use their platform could result in further "violence."

And now, they’ve made his ban permanent.

According to NBC, the social media giant announced on February 10 that they will never lift their ban on the former president - even if he were to run for office again, and win.

When asked during an interview with CNBC's Squawk Box if he would let Trump return to Twitter if the 45th president was re-elected to office, Twitter CFO Ned Segal replied, “So the way our policies work, when you are removed from the platform you are removed from the platform, whether you are a commentator, you're a CFO or you are a former or current public official."

"And so, remember, our policies are designed to make sure that people are not inciting violence, and if anybody does that, we have to remove them from the service and our policies don't allow people to come back," he continued.

"He was removed when he was president and there would be no difference for anybody who was a public official, once they had been removed from the service,” Segal concluded.

If that’s Segal’s attitude on inciting violence, he should have banned Kathy Griffin for bringing Trump’s severed head back to Twitter, or at least given a warning to Debra Messing for openly tweeting her desire for Trump to be serially raped in prison.

And speaking of public officials, Segal apparently forgot about the time when Chuck Schumer threatened Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh at a rally. And Schumer’s still on Twitter.

Behold, censorship in action.
