Leave it to the New York Times to come out with what they think is riveting and groundbreaking content years after we came to the same conclusion.

The leftists at the New York Times released a piece Friday talking about detransitioning. The piece, titled, “As Kids, They Thought They Were Trans. They No Longer Do,” has garnered many on social media to say we told you so.

The opinion piece, written by Pamela Paul, tells the heartbreaking stories of how children were abused and neglected rather than nurtured which led to their transition and now, years later, their regret.

She talked about one girl who began transitioning as a young teenager but was never asked why she felt so “detached” from her body. Here’s what Paul wrote:

At no point during her medical or surgical transition, Powell says, did anyone ask her about the reasons behind her gender dysphoria or her depression. At no point was she asked about her sexual orientation. And at no point was she asked about any previous trauma, and so neither the therapists nor the doctors ever learned that she’d been sexually abused as a child.

Yes, New York Times, we’ve been saying since all this started that rather than intervening with immediate medication or "transition" procedures, get to the root of the issue and figure out why a child is struggling mentally.

“I wish there had been more open conversations,” the girl, now 23 and detransitioned, told Paul. “But I was told there is one cure and one thing to do if this is your problem, and this will help you.”

Paul even went on to talk about the fact that many gender specialists are afraid to speak out when they don’t “automatically agree” that a child has gender dysphoria. The author included an analysis from the National Health Service which noted that “primary and secondary care staff have told us that they feel under pressure to adopt an unquestioning affirmative approach and that this is at odds with the standard process of clinical assessment and diagnosis that they have been trained to undertake in all other clinical encounters."

She also noted that oftentimes only conservative outlets highlight stories of detransitioners. I mean, yeah - because we, unlike the left, actually care about the well being of people more than pushing a delusion/agenda.

Shockingly, Paul also brought up the common phrase from the left: “Do you want a dead son or a live daughter?” This is a manipulative phrase that leftists use to insist that if parents don’t allow their kids to transition, that their kids will kill themselves. This is the same phrase that was told to the parents of famous detransitioner Chloe Cole who was born a girl, was fed the lie that she needed to become a boy in order to deal with her mental health issues, and has since detransitioned.

In response to the article, Cole wrote, “Detransitioners are flipping the narrative. The truth of our experiences can no longer be denied,” on her X account.

“Rather than being treated as patients who deserve unbiased professional help, children with gender dysphoria often become political pawns,” Paul included before blaming both Conservatives and Liberals for the issue.

Conservative lawmakers are working to ban access to gender care for minors and occasionally for adults as well. On the other side, however, many medical and mental health practitioners feel their hands have been tied by activist pressure and organizational capture. They say that it has become difficult to practice responsible mental health care or medicine for these young people.

Later Paul made a similar point:

The real threat to transgender people comes from Republicans who wish to deny them rights and protections. But the doctrinal rigidity of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party is disappointing, frustrating and counterproductive.

So while she wasn’t saying that transgenderism is a delusion, at least she did mention that it’s not a “one size fits all” solution to mental health issues.

Hey, it’s a step in the right direction at least. A step that many others online were pleased to see.

“2024: Year of the Truth,” one user wrote while another said, “They transitioned their opinion” and one more added, “Look at NYT being brave and actually doing some journalism.”

“The medical industry, left-wing media, and trans activists are ignoring  the sources of struggle that often lead to youth gender transition.Their negligence is producing an army of victims, who are about to bring about a legal reckoning never before seen in history,” The National Review added.

The tides are turning. Let’s hope and pray that more outlets begin sharing and exposing the truth about the dangers of feeding this sort of mental confusion.
