Oh, so abortions aren’t as safe as the left likes to pretend? Shocking.

On September 28 of 2022, 24-year-old Alyona Dixon died after reportedly becoming septic following an abortion. Now, Dixon’s family is suing the hospital who they say failed to diagnose her properly and take her condition seriously.

Dixon, already the mother of a nine-month-old, was pregnant with her second child when she visited a Planned Parenthood location in Las Vegas. Dixon was given the abortion pill, an extremely dangerous medication crafted to cause one death, at a minimum. A few days later, Dixon started experiencing sharp lower abdominal pain, KLAS-TV reported.

Dixon visited St. Rose Dominican’s Blue Diamond campus and received a few tests on September 26. As noted by KLAS-TV, the lawsuit claims that Dixon did not receive a consultation from a gynecologist or a pelvic exam, two things that, given her circumstances and pain, seem like no-brainers. Later that same day, Dixon was discharged and essentially told she was fine, but encouraged to seek other help if her symptoms worsened.

The next day, Dixon went to the emergency room at Desert View Hospital with vaginal bleeding. The suit claims a doctor there documented that Dixon’s symptoms included “abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea, severe dehydration, acute renal failure, leukocytosis, sepsis, lactic acidosis, hypokalemia, sinus tachycardia, metabolic acidosis, pulseless electrical activity, respiratory failure.” Doctors apparently wanted to transfer Dixon to a Clark County hospital for further examination after her symptoms started to improve - that was, until Dixon's infection suddenly got worse.

Here’s what KLAS-TV reported about her rapid health deterioration:

As her heart rate elevated to 150 and she had trouble breathing, doctors worked to intubate and sedate her. She vomited during the process and her heart stopped. Attempts to resuscitate her failed, and she was declared dead at 5:32 a.m. on Sept. 28. The Clark County Coroner’s Office gave her cause of death as “complications from septic abortion.”

According to the lawsuit, filed by attorneys Kimball Jones and Mark Rouse of Bighorn Law in Vegas, the first doctors at the Blue Diamond were negligent and didn’t see or care for the severity of Dixon’s health problems.

“The death of Alyona Dixon was tragic and devastating for her young family,” Rouse said Friday, according to KLAS-TV. “Alyona loved kids and hoped to one day operate a kid’s play center. Unfortunately, she will never have that opportunity. We believe the evidence will show that Alyona’s death was preventable and that the defendants should be held accountable for their conduct.”

The lawsuit seeks an excess of $15,000 in payment for Dixon's medical, funeral and burial expenses, special damages, and compensatory damages, KLAS-TV reported. The lawsuit also seeks “general damages” for Dixon’s husband and son.

After word broke about Dixon’s family’s case, numerous Twitter users were furious about the negligence of doctors and warned about the dangers of abortions.

“Abortions kill women and young girls,” one user wrote.

Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life, posted, “This is chemical abortion. A woman was given chemical abortion pills and dies of sepsis."

Others pointed out that in Dixon's case, “Two died, not just one.”

Honestly, Planned Parenthood should be sued, too.

Now, could this whole thing have been avoided? Of course! Dixon shouldn’t have ever entered the doors of Planned Parenthood to kill her child. Planned Parenthood should have never told her that these chemical abortion pills were safe. Nothing that results in anyone's death is “safe.”

This is a prime example of why we need to stop the lies that tell women abortion is risk-free and normal.
