Then and Now: How Much Berlin Has Changed Since WWII

Today marks the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (or VE Day) where the Allies of WWII formally accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany’s armed forces. Above you will see restored footage of the city of Berlin just months after the Second World War. The streets are surrounding by broken buildings, some of which are still falling to the ground. Below you can see a montage of the modern city and some it’s most famous tourist attractions. It’s a world of difference and a fine example of how far the world has come since the bloodiest war of modern human history.
