STING: 470 Tons of Fraudulent Cheese Seized from Smugglers

Russian police have arrested six members of a cheese-smuggling ring responsible for bringing in $40 million worth of the foodstuff on the domestic market. In all, 470 tons of their cheese was seized in a massive raid.

If the six are convicted, they'll face up to a decade in prison for fraud. Putin established a prohibition-style ban on western food in response to sanctions placed on them in retaliation for their annexation of the Crimean peninsula - which has caused the prices of local goods to skyrocket.  

So, these guys decided to cash in with the bright idea of producing their own cheap cheese and selling it on the market with counterfeit labels. They were raking in as much cheddar as they were making!
