SNL's Co-Head Writer is a Huge Liberal

Zach Montanaro | October 4, 2016

"Saturday Night Live" is supposed to be that one show that goes above politics to mock people on both sides of the aisle. Nothing is more a staple of "SNL" political mockery than their extensive attempts to make fun of presidential debates over the years.

The spoof of the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton came out last week. There were certainly more jabs at Trump, but that’s not surprising considering who is helping to write them.

Chris Kelly, the co-head writer for "SNL," doesn’t even really attempt to hide his bias. His Twitter feed is full of anti-Trump sentiments.

There’s everything from full-on cussing and insulting the Republican nominee (warning: strong language):

To the ever popular liberal tactic of comparing someone you don’t like to Hitler.

One can’t forget to have a level of snark when using Twitter:

There’s even the outright praise of Clinton:

Let’s just hope that Kelly keeps the obvious bias on his Twitter feed and not in a show that has made us laugh at politicians so much.

If you haven’t already, check out the "SNL" debate spoof below:
