'SHUT UP': Glenn Beck Blasts Open Carry Activist Taunting Police in Front of School

Shawn Nixon is an open carry activist in Madison Heights, Michigan. It appears that Nixon posted a video onto his personal Youtube profile, a video of his open carry demonstration. His wanderings led him near a high school, causing a lockdown. Unsurprisingly, police were called and an officer was posted in front of the school to keep an eye on the man.

On his show, host Glenn Beck opens fire on Nixon, saying:

“Common sense says that somebody’s going to have a problem with a guy, with a rifle, across the street from a school. Can you carry it there? Yes. But if a cop says, ‘Hey, what are you doing?’ ‘I’m just exercising my constitutional right.’ ‘Oh, okay, cool. How long are you going to be here’ ‘I don’t know I might be here all day.’ ‘Okay, cool.’ End of conversation!”

Fed up, Beck with listening to Nixon's audio, Beck even tells the activist to "Shut up."

Perhaps, the dumbest things that Nixon said were in reaction to one of the officers approaching with a hand on his gun.

“Time out! I’m talking now! That shiny little badge on his chest doesn’t give him any more rights than I have! Actually, you all work for me and the taxpayers right? So, you come over here with your hand on your gun, that’s reason for me to think that you feel ill-will towards me.”

“If I were to do the same thing, you’d probably pull your gun out and point it at me, am I right? I’m talking to you, tough guy.”

When he was told that school administrators called police and asked that he not be allowed on school property, Nixon argued further, saying it was public property owned by the taxpayers.
