An 11-year-old boy was reportedly one of four teens and young adults accused of beating a 70-year-old Asian woman on the streets of San Francisco earlier this month.
Fox News, citing “multiple law enforcement sources,” says that in addition to the 11-year-old, a 13-year-old girl, a 14-year-old girl, and an 18-year-old man, all black, were also part of the group who were caught on camera beating and kicking the elderly woman as she lay on the ground.

“Mrs. Ren,” as she’s gone by in news reports, told local reporters she’s been staying home since the COVID pandemic began in early 2020.After finally venturing out on Sunday, she was viciously attacked in broad daylight by a group of young black people, who she says first approached her and asked her for the time. They then allegedly demanded she hand over her phone, which he refused. Video surveillance shows the group following the woman into a nearby elevator before attacking her, knocking her to the ground and kicking her in the face.
After first walking away, the group then returned to take the woman’s keys, assaulting her again in the process.

The attack reportedly landed Mrs. Ren temporarily in the hospital. She's now bedridden at home, in pain and unable to sleep from the trauma.
Fox News’ Matt Finn reported that as of August 20, only two of the assailants have been arrested, adding that law enforcement officials haven’t yet publicly confirmed that an 11-year-old was part of the group due to the “active investigation.”
Unfortunately, the incident is just one in a long string of attacks on Asians and Asian Americans in the past two years. Earlier this month, a man was caught on video punching an elderly woman in the head as she walked along a street in the daytime, also in San Francisco.
Last year, a black woman in New York City was seen on video attacking two Asian women with a hammer. A 65-year-old woman was also attacked outside an NYC apartment building in broad daylight.
