North Korea is putting President Trump on notice.

North Korean state media on Wednesday said that President Trump has been “sentenced to death by the Korean people” for insulting North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Trump on Saturday tweeted that Kim Jong Un is “short and fat.”

An editorial from North Korea’s ruling party’s newspaper Rodong Sinmun called Trump “a hideous criminal” and said he “will be forced to pay dearly for his blasphemy any moment.”

“The worst crime for which he can never be pardoned is that he dared malignantly hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK,” the editorial read. “Trump, who is no more than an old slave of money, dared point an accusing finger at the sun. He should know that he is just a hideous criminal sentenced to death by the Korean people.”

"He will be forced to pay dearly for his blasphemy any moment,” the editorial continued.

The editorial focused on Trump's recent visit to South Korea, where he urged North Korea to “come to the table” and “make a deal” regarding its nuclear weapons program.

He delivered a speech to South Korean lawmakers in Seoul last Wednesday, where he warned Kim Jong Un that his country's nuclear efforts are putting his regime “in grave danger" and that the U.S. "will not be intimidated."

Trump called on "all responsible nations" to "join forces to isolate the brutal regime," adding that the U.S. and its allies “cannot tolerate the menace of a rogue regime that threatens it with nuclear devastation.”

The Rodong Sinmun editorial blasted Trump for “spouting all sorts of rubbish” in his speech which “painted a black picture of the DPRK." The editorial added that Trump's remarks were considered by North Korea “an open declaration of war.”

“Rabid dog's barking can never frighten the Korean people,” the editorial went on. “It is the principle and way of the DPRK to toughly react to any acts of hostility. The U.S. will have to bitterly experience what it dislikes most and witness what it thought of in nightmare.”

The state newspaper also said that Trump -- "a symbol of wolf-like U.S. imperialism" -- is guilty of other crimes including maligning “the Korean-style socialist system” and lying about “the happy life of the great Korean people.”

Upon his return from his five country Asia-Pacific tour, President Trump called his trip “very successful” and tweeted that the U.S. “is respected again” in the region.
