A senior North Korean official warns that Pynonyang is considering a hydrogen bomb test in the Pacific Ocean in response to new sanctions imposed by President Trump, reports CNBC.

According to a report by South Korea’s official news agency Yonhap, North Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs Ri Yong Ho said the potential test of "the most powerful detonation of an H-bomb in the Pacific" would be one possible "highest-level" action against the U.S.

"It could be the most powerful detonation of an H-bomb in the Pacific," Ri told reporters. "We have no idea about what actions could be taken as it will be ordered by leader Kim Jong-un."

Ri reportedly made the comment after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said that he is considering the strongest actions against the U.S. in response to President Trump’s threat to “totally destroy” the country during his address to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.

Kim called Trump "mentally deranged" for his comments and threatened to "tame" him with "fire."
