If you believe the Islamic mantra of it being “the religion of peace,” I have oceanfront property in Wyoming to sell you. I never thought that this kind of thing could happen in the place I grew up going to elementary through high school. But it did happen, and there’s nothing that can change it now that the cat is out of the bag.

A Turning Point USA high school representative was violently attacked by an angry mob of “pro-Palestinian” activists in Skokie, Illinois while the rep reportedly attempted to help “a lost, elderly Jewish couple to the Pro-Israel event.” The rep, who identified themselves through a video post of the altercation on their X account, is Peter Christos, who said that he “was punched repeatedly, kicked in the head, and hit with a flagpole.”

As you can see, even though it’s a short clip, the victim was taken away by police rather than the police trying to confront the attackers. To be fair, it might’ve been easier to remove one person from the situation rather than confront an entire angry mob.

Growing up in Skokie, a suburb north of Chicago, I can confirm that the village used to be predominantly Jewish. But, apparently, demographics have changed in the years since I lived in that area.

Skokie used to be so populated with Jewish people that, at one point, the village had one of the highest per capita populations of Holocaust survivors in the United States. Skokie is also home to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center.

It’s a sad day to see a place that you used to call home, a place you grew up in, become such a suburb of hate and division.
