Antisemitism is alive and well in Los Angeles-area high schools.

Noli Indian School (NIS), a private school for grades 6-12 on the Soboba Indian Reservation near Los Angeles, reportedly made antisemitic gestures toward a rival Jewish high school football team from Milken Community School (MCS), a private Jewish school, during a game Friday.

Unfortunately, MCS reportedly endured “antisemitic slurs” and “gestures, including the Nazi salute” from NIS students during the game. The demonstration grew so intense that Sarah Shulkind, the head of the school, reported that the kids “felt threatened and unsafe.”

I get that high school kids can be stupid, but the kids at NIS have zero excuse for their actions, especially considering everything that’s happening in Israel. How hard is it to go to a football game and not salute like Hitler, or hurl racist insults at the opposing team?

Fortunately, Shulkin reported that leadership at NIS quickly responded by sincerely apologizing for what happened.

“Throughout the conversation (the school leaders had), the leadership of Noli Indian Academy continually expressed regret and sorrow for the actions of their students and community members, committing to discipline and education to combat ignorance and hatred,” Shulkin said.

NIS leadership released a statement obtained by Breitbart that expressed how appalled they were by their students’ actions.

“Noli Indian School has zero tolerance for any hate speech or hate actions, and strongly condemns any form of either,” the statement read. “Any unjust behavior within our community will be addressed immediately and thoroughly. There is simply no place in a decent society for expressions of hate.”

You could say that again.

NIS deserves a lot of credit for taking ownership of what happened and dealing with it quickly. Hopefully, whatever measures NIS uses to discipline its students works and MCS football players never hear these attacks again.
