Stop for a second. Think very hard about what the last great — and I mean classic — comedy movie came out. What is it? “Tropic Thunder?” That came out all the way back in 2008. Can you believe that movie is 15 years old? The world that former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama brought us began the decline of great comedic films — or at least films that took chances.
By the time we got to the era of former President Donald Trump, the media, politicians and the woke mob turned comedies that took chances into a cancelable offense.
Now, I’m not saying that the movie I’m about to mention is going to cure all of that, or even be good. But, at the very least, it’s taking chances that the wimps in Hollywood wouldn’t dare to do in today’s society.
The Daily Wire released a trailer on Monday for their new film, “Lady Ballers.” There’s more than one meaning to that title.

Basically, the movie — written, directed and starring Daily Wire Co-CEO Jeremy Boreing — wants the feeling of winning again for both him and his friends. So, what do they do? They decide to pretend they’re trans women and enter a real women’s basketball tournament. Of course, hijinks ensue.

As you may have noticed, there are cameos in the film by fellow Daily Wire colleagues Matt Walsh, co-founder Ben Shapiro and Brett Cooper, along with other notable conservatives like Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon and female athlete Riley Gaines.
Let’s hope that a film like this inspires others to be less afraid to take chances in the realm of cinematic comedy.
