A new migrant caravan is making its way north from Honduras to the U.S.-Mexico border.
The National Review reports,
A new caravan of more than 500 migrants gathered at a bus station in a Honduran city Monday night to begin the perilous trek to the U.S.-Mexico border.
Members of the caravan, which left from the city of San Pedro Sula in northern Honduras, begged local shop keepers for food and water for their journey on their way out of town, Fox News reported.

The 6,000-person caravan that arrived in Tijuana, Mexico in the fall was organized by a number of pro-immigration activist groups but it remains unclear which, if any, organization orchestrated the latest mass movement. Many members of the last caravan are still waiting in Tijuana for their asylum claims to be processed.
According to a journalist on the scene, in addition to the larger group of migrants that had departed Monday night, several small groups of migrants have left a bus station in the city of San Pedro Sula, all heading toward the Aguas Calientes border, a border crossing shared by Guatemala.
Sarah Kinosian says that in addition to those small groups, she witnessed another large group of under 1,000 people depart on Tuesday at 5 a.m. in the morning local time toward the border as well, moving to try to catch up with the "larger group" that had already left.
Here is video of the first group departing.
This news comes amid an ongoing partial government shutdown over President Trump’s request for $5.7 billion to construct a wall along the U.S.-southern border.
Trump tweeted in response to news of the caravan on Tuesday, slamming Democratic leaders Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi for “playing political games” and not taking border security seriously.
He added in a following tweet, “Polls are now showing that people are beginning to understand the Humanitarian Crisis and Crime at the Border. Numbers are going up fast, over 50%. Democrats will soon be known as the Party of Crime. Ridiculous that they don’t want Border Security!”
A recent poll shows that a majority of U.S. voters favor strong borders and disagree with Democrats on their assertion that building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border is “immoral.” Polling also shows that increasingly more Americans are throwing their support behind President Trump’s agenda and say Congress should, too.
