Officials at the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington confirmed that their Navy pilots were responsible for phallic art in the sky above.

The officials acknowledged that it was in fact pilots from their base who drew the penis in the sky while speaking with local station KREM 2 News. Photos were sent to KREM 2 by multiple sources that show the sky drawings of male genitalia.

In a statement, Naval officials said:

“The Navy holds its aircrew to the highest standards and we find this absolutely unacceptable, of zero training value and we are holding the crew accountable,”

A local mother from the area was upset about the images and the fact that she would have to explain them to her young children, according to the KREM 2 report.

In response to all of the backlash, the Federal Aviation Administration said they can't necessarily act because of the incident because it doesn't pose a safety risk to the base or local residents. The administration also said they "cannot police morality."
