First, it was Pride Month. Then, it was Pride Season. Now, just about every day needs to be reserved to celebrate the alphabet mafia.

Last week, President Biden made headlines after acknowledging Easter as the “Transgender Day of Visibility,” but, as it turns out, practically every day is an LGBTQ+ holiday according to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).

Surprisingly, January is absent of any such holidays, but February brings three: National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week, and HIV Is Not A Crime Awareness Day.

I've seen quite a few wacky laws, but I've never seen one criminalizing having HIV. Do we really need an awareness day for what the law already recognizes?

The entire month of March is Bisexual Health Awareness Month, and one week in March is always designated National LGBT Health Awareness Week, though the week varies. As for individual days, we have National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, and, of course, International Transgender Day of Visibility.

In April, we have the International Asexuality Day, National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, Day of Silence, National Transgender HIV Testing Day, Nonbinary Parents Day, and Lesbian Visibility Day.

I could actually get behind the Day of Silence if it were a day that the alphabet mob collectively agreed to stop shoving their lifestyle in everyone else's face, but I'm sure that's not what it means.

Furthermore, the National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day could be used to combat pedophilia in the LGBTQ+ community and talking about the unique damage done to boys taken advantage of and infected by grown men, but again, I doubt that's the focus of the holiday.

In May, going strong in preparation for Pride Month, we have International Family Equality Day, International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, Harvey Milk Day, and Pansexual and Panromantic Awareness and Visibility Day.

June, of course, is Pride Month, the sacred cow of the alphabet people, but that doesn't stop them from putting in several more days to celebrate. June brings LGBTQ Families Day, a remembrance day for the Pulse Nightclub Shooting, the anniversary of U.S. Supreme Court Bostock decision expanding protections to LGBTQ employees, the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision mandating states to legalize gay marriage, National HIV Testing Day, Stonewall Day, and Queer Youth of Faith Day.

In July, we have Nonbinary Awareness Week, which culminates in International Nonbinary People's Day, and International Drag Day.

In August, we get a small break, with only Gay Uncles Day and Southern HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

September brings National HIV/AIDS & Aging Awareness Day, Bisexual+ Awareness Week (which culminates on Celebrate Bisexuality Day), and National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

The entirety of October is LGBTQ History Month, with specific days being International Lesbian Day, National Coming Out Day, National Latinx HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, National LGBT Center Awareness Day, International Pronouns Day, Spirit Day, and Intersex Awareness Day. In addition, the last week in October is Asexual Awareness Week.

November brings Transgender Parent Day, Transgender Awareness Week, and Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Finally, in December, we wrap up the year with World AIDS Day, Pansexual/Panromantic Pride Day, and HIV Cure Research Day.

I've noticed that Detrans Awareness Day is conveniently absent from this list, which is quite unbecoming of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, seeing as many detransitioners and desisters go on to identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual.

Furthermore, it seems the name GLAAD is a bit discriminatory? I've noticed many letters are absent. If they want to be inclusive, by their own standards, shouldn't they be the LGBTQIA+AAD?

Did someone order the combo meal of word salad and alphabet soup?
