Man Calls Local TV Station For an Interview While Stranded in a Tree

A man from Austin, Texas, called into his local TV station to share his perspective on the storms that caused mayhem and took the lives of six individuals in his town -- all while he was still stranded in a tree.

Kerry Parker had been driving for only five minutes when he tried to drive through what he first thought was “a little bit of water.” Unfortunately, it was a whole lot of flood water. The flood currents took his car downstream and forced him to find refuge in the branches of a tree.

As shocking as it was to the anchors, Parker seemed unfazed, despite the fact that the roads he was previously driving on now looked like a very muddy lake.

“It’s a little cold, but I did Boy Scouts for 20 years, so I know how to keep my energy up and keep warm,” Parker told the TV crew.

After the interview, Parker was rescued by crews after spending a few hours in the rain.
