Conservatives have come to expect leftist media outlets to insult Florida Governor Ron DeSantis almost every day, especially now that he has announced his presidential campaign. On Monday however, multiple networks took to calling DeSantis “racist” on the same day, using almost the same language about the same speech.

The outrage stemmed from DeSantis’ remarks about Florida’s African-American history curriculum during a Salt Lake City press conference on Friday. In the words of Breitbart reporter Pam Key, the curriculum “teaches some black people benefitted from skills they learned as slaves.”

“I didn’t do it,” DeSantis said, clarifying that he did not personally develop the curriculum. “I wasn’t involved in it, but I think–I think what they’re doing is, I think that they’re probably going to show some of the folks that eventually parlayed, you know, being a blacksmith into doing things later in life.”

“A bunch of lackeys and minions put that legislation into effect,” Ana Navarro of The View claimed. “He has created the environment that has led to this. What they say is that the updated standards now say that ‘enslaved people developed skills that could be applied for their personal benefit.’ Slavery was the darkest moment of American history – our deepest shame. People got torn from their homelands.”

The rant only increased in its miserable hysterics.

“Shame on you, people in Florida," Navarro rambled. "How dare you try to whitewash slavery! And for this man, Ron DeSantis, whose apparently only skills that he has acquired is lying and creating culture wars that he thinks is going to make him president – they’re not, buddy. That’s why you’re 30 points down.”

Nicolle Wallace of MSNBC had similar words to share with the Florida governor.

“That was Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis defending but not taking a lick of responsibility for his state’s outrageous, inhumane whitewashed new education standards,” Wallace declared. “I feel sick and sad and angry that there are people that buy it. I feel sick and sad and angry that DeSantis is selling it. I feel sick and sad and angry when I watch him stand there and say it’s so repugnant, ‘I didn’t do it.’ And then I feel really sick and sad and angry about all the people that it will impact.”

Similarly, many pundits - and even Vice President Kamala Harris - have melted down over Florida's new curriculum, which they've immediately deemed "racist" - a claim that Dr. William Allen, former chairman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and a current member of Florida’s African American History Standards Workgroup, has called “categorically false."

Clearly, in the eyes of the left, no one can acknowledge slavery as evil if they also dare to point out any good that came from that period of suffering. Racism is now the deadliest sin.
