Four family members were arrested for allegedly assaulting a 14-year old to induce an abortion, Dallas police have reported.
The girl, who was eight-months pregnant at the time of the attack, says that in August 2012 she became pregnant after a family member sexually assaulted her. She did not speak up about the sexual assault because "she was embarrassed," police said. It was only until a woman, who claims to have witnessed the attack, spoke to the girl did they go to police May 22.
The four -- Cedric Jones, 27; Sharon Jones, 45; Cecila McDonald, 25; and Lonnell McDonald, 27 -- were arrested on charges of organized criminal activity.
The atrocities the four engaged in include Sharon Jones giving the girl "multiple doses of birth control pills, Plan B [emergency contraception] pills and cinnamon tablets … to abort the baby," but those attempts were futile.
Next, Cecila McDonald held down the girl while Lonnell McDonald sat on her "repeatedly bouncing up and down," as well as reportedly kicking the girl multiple times.
The affidavit claims that Cecila McDonald told the girl, "You ain’t about to get my kids taken away from me,” while the attack was occurring.
The assault lasted approximately six hours according to the affidavit. She began to bleed heavily, and the baby was born stillborn two hours later.
In an act of horror, the family members then tried to burn and destroy the child's body in a charcoal grill, but they were unsuccessful. According to the Dallas Morning News, "Two days later, Sharon Jones paid Cedric $25 to 'take care of the rest of it,' and the remains were disposed of in a plastic bag at an unknown location."
The girl was never given proper medical treatment, as she was given iron pills by the family members for the extreme blood loss.
The bail for all four family members is set at $150,000.
