Talk about having your cake and eating it, too.

President Joe Biden’s administration is moving to build border barriers to help stem the tide of illegal immigration that’s overwhelming cities and pissing off Democrat mayors - but don’t worry! Biden doesn’t actually want to build a wall. It’s just that he has no choice, you see.

“The money was appropriated for the border wall. I tried to get them [Congress] to reappropriate it, to redirect that money. They didn't. They wouldn't.

"And in the meantime, they have to use the money for what it was appropriated. I can't stop that,” he added.

When asked then if he believes border walls work, Biden responded, “No,” before moving on.

Translation? We need the wall Trump promised because our border’s busted open like an old can of biscuits and even liberals are getting upset...but we don’t want to pay the political cost for it.

In the meantime, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Wednesday pointed to an "acute and immediate need" to waive federal laws and start construction on a section of border wall and roads in the Rio Grand Valley Sector, a heavily trafficked area of Texas where more than 245,000 migrants were apprehended this fiscal year alone. Mayorkas said he's using his legal authority to waive more than two dozen federal laws, including the Clean Air Act, Safe Drinking Water Act and Endangered Species Act, to allow for construction on the border barrier to begin.

The news comes after border agents reported a shocking 210,000 illegal alien apprehensions at the Southwest U.S. border in September, up by roughly 30,000 from the 181,000 they caught in August. September’s stunning report brings the total number of illegals caught in FY2023 - which ended Sept. 30 - to more than 2.4 million, setting a new annual record and marking only the second time in recorded history that illegal alien apprehensions have topped 2 million in a given fiscal year.

Of the more than 6 million illegals who’ve been caught at the border since January of 2021, the Biden Administration has released more than 2 million into the United States with orders to appear in court for asylum hearings, often scheduled five or more years into the future.
