President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris can’t seem to find the Southwest U.S. border, but hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens sure have. And now, so has billionaire Elon Musk.

The Tesla/Space X/X-formerly-known-as-Twitter magnate traveled to Eagle Pass, Texas, which has seen a stunning and record-high number of illegal alien crossings this month. Clad in a button-down and black cowboy hat, Musk live-streamed himself via his phone standing beneath an overpass with border agents as a huge mass of migrants crowds the space behind them.

“I’m at Eagle Pass, just arrived,” Musk began, saying his plan was simply to “go around and talk to officials and law enforcement” in the area in pursuit of the “real story” behind the border surge the administration so desperately pretends isn’t happening.

“As an immigrant to the United States, I am extremely pro-immigrant,” he explained, saying he’s in favor of a “greatly expanded legal immigration system.”

“We should not be allowing people in the country if they’re breaking the law. That doesn’t make sense. The law is there for a reason,” Musk went on, calling to “stop the flow of people that is of such magnitude that it’s leading to a collapse of social services” in cities like New York City.

Standing with Musk was Texas Democrat Rep. Tony Gonzalez, who has been an outspoken proponent of securing the border and stopping the surge of illegal migration. Gonzalez pointed to the other side of the overpass where a stopped train sat on the tracks, explaining that illegal aliens travel to the border via the train and then cross into the United States where they are processed by border agents and then taken to a maxed-out border facility that’s already well over capacity.

“Nothing as far as you know is being done at the federal level?” Musk asked Gonzalez, to which the congressman replied, “No. Nothing.”

“Simple things like raising the level of credible fear” would help alleviate the problem, he pointed out. “Most of the people who are seeking asylum are not gonna qualify for asylum. Nine out of 10 actually are not.”

When asked how many people who don’t qualify for asylum are sent back to their home country, Gonzalez answered, “Zero.”

“That’s the No. 1 thing this administration has to do. There have to be repercussions,” he said. “When you do that, this goes away.”

Which, given the Biden administration’s unwillingness to play partisan games rather than crack down on illegal immigration, means the problem is not going to go away anytime soon.
