The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has been receiving taxpayer money in order to subsidize the travel and lodging of migrants for decades while enabling the human trafficking crisis on the Southern Border.

Last Thursday, the Catholic watchdog Church Militant held a press conference with the Deposit of Faith Coalition, a group of different Christian-conservative activists that are calling for the “defunding” of the USCCB over the leftist policies being pushed among the bishops.  The event included a panel of many speakers pointing out various left-wing political causes that the USCCB has been supporting, including unchecked illegal immigration.

Sheena Rodriguez, founder of the Alliance for a Safe Texas, an organization that fights human trafficking and advocates for a secure border, spoke on to the panel about the role the USCCB plays in facilitating the importation of migrants from the border, saying she believes that USCCB bishops are participating in trafficking for the millions of dollars that they receive from the U.S. government, and that no one is keeping track of how the money is being spent.

Rodriguez told MRCTV:

“What we see is millions, upon millions, upon millions of taxpayer dollars going into these types of non governmental organizations (NGOs), including Catholic Charities and USCCB. We can’t pretend that money might not be a motivating factor when we as taxpayers cannot even look where this money is going. If you try to do research on the millions upon, millions of dollars that is being allocated at the federal level, state level, and the international level its nearly impossible to give a truly accurate figure and then to even see where and how that money is being decimated from there.”

In the process of using taxpayer dollars to fund these efforts,Catholics throw out American homeless people from shelters in order to make room for the migrants.

“I’ve been in the Rio Grande sector where Catholic Charities has intentionally kicked American homeless people out to house illegal aliens. How are we going to pretend this isn’t happening?” Rodriguez said.

She also told us that the media plays a role in making it appear that the problem doesn’t exist and that these are just “poor migrants” trying to find a better life on their own. The media, of course, isn’t telling the whole story.

“What they don’t show you is that the 'poor migrants' are being incentivized to come and how they are being incentivized? A lot of it by are federal government and the current administration but also by these NGOs that are out there lobbying actively against U.S. immigration laws.”

President and Founder of the Church Militant Micheal Vorris told MRCTV that many in the Catholic Church hierarchy including Pope Francis misrepresent the church's teaching on immigration in order to justify its involvement in facilitating illegal immigration.

It’s grossly misrepresented by the bishops, archbishop, the cardinals and to the degree he references the Pope. They take one part of the teaching, which is obviously based on the commandment “love thy neighbor” and to the degree they can, nations should be welcoming to immigrants and people in desperate measures. However there is a back end to this teaching that is completely ignored. You can look this up in the catechism, when immigrants come here they have the duty to assimilate, respect the laws, the cultures and the customs and morals of the nation that they are granted asylum into.

According to the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church ccc 2241, “Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants' duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.”
