Acosta To Trump: '[CNN's] Record On Delivering the Truth Is a Lot Better Than Yours'

President Donald Trump wasn’t taking any crap from Jim Acosta Tuesday morning, even when the CNN reporter accused him to his face of being a liar.

Acosta, ever the anti-Trump advocate who takes ill-aimed shots at the administration if and when possible, told Trump during a press conference that “[CNN’s] record on delivering the truth is a lot better than yours.”

“First of all, I want no help from any country, and I haven’t been given help from any country,” Trump replied. "And if you see what CNN, your wonderful network, said, I guess they apologized in a way for — didn’t they apologize for the fact that they said certain things that weren’t true? Tell me, what was their apology yesterday? What did they say?”

"Mr. President, I think our record on delivering the truth is a lot better than yours sometimes,” Acosta answered, while completely dodging the president’s original question.

“Let me tell you about your record, your record is so bad you ought to be ashamed of yourself,” Trump fired back. “You have the worst record in the history of broadcasting.”

“I’m not ashamed of anything and our organization is not ashamed,” Acosta responded.

The altercation comes after CNN on Sunday backtracked on a report claiming Russia was actively trying to help Trump win the election, saying that the country’s “top election security official appears to have overstated” the assessment of information that lawmakers pressured them to make. That report comes just two days after a Jim Acosta-led CNN article stated that "Russia is looking to help Trump win in 2020."
