The first father and daughter duo serving as Military Training Instructors at the same time and at the same place appeared for an interview with Fox and Friends over the weekend.

Tech. Sgt. James MacKay and his daughter, Staff Sgt. Amanda MacFarlane, of the 433rd Training Squadron expressed their mutual admiration and said serving together is a pleasure, not a pain.

"I joke with folks on the base and say it's the ultimate 'Take Your Daughter To Work Day' every day," MacKay said. "I couldn't be more proud of Amanda and my other daughter, Cassandra, who's also active duty military."

Hosts at Fox and Friends joked about a rivalry between the family members and MacKay told them that "it's not so much of a rivalry. She just beats me at everything I do." MacFarlane said that she had began dreaming of following in her father's footsteps at a young age. Her message to him now is:

"I’m just incredibly proud of the person that he is," MacFarlane said. "And I’ve always looked up to his dedication, his loyalty, his work ethic and all of the other incredible qualities that he has, not only as a father, but a mentor and a teacher."
