In the free market, we get to exercise our liberty to control our own lives and investments of resources. We can judge risks, and see how others’ choices along those lines have worked out, as the market reveals the good and bad choices, and people trend toward what works. In government, free will is eliminated. Choice is destroyed, and risk factors are taken out of our hands, destroying the…

Parishioners fought admirably and with a positive attitude, and they appear ready to keep fighting for their religious freedom, but the Santa Clara County Superior Court (paid through taxation of said parishioners) Monday banned the Calvary Chapel in San Jose, California from hosting its normal indoor gatherings. Charlotte Mitchell writes for the MailOnline: County health orders state indoor…

Just like his father, John, made a spectacle of himself when, as George H. W. Bush’s Chief of Staff, he took personal flights on U.S. military jets costing $3,945 per hour to operate, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu is showing his statist, authoritarian hubris in his most recent COVID19 crackdown on restaurateurs. And he’s making it worse with some of his block-headed comments in support of it…

Democrat New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has a warm, traditional Thanksgiving message for his subjects and anyone with the temerity to visit them: It’s that King Cuomo can control how you freely associate with family and friends. As Dean Balsamini explains for the New York Post (Shh! Don't tell Twitter!), despite Cuomo telling residents of the Empire State that they are free to travel to…

These are flips even the legendary comedian Flip Wilson could have appreciated. Of course, these aren’t funny. And they’re much more dangerous and educational than typical political flips, as well. As part of his August push to utilize unwarranted fear over COVID19 to gain political points, Joe Biden blurted out his desire to issue a national mask mandate. As Breitbart’s Kyle Olsen…

What’s on the menu for the California government and five of its little soviet counties? First course: legal demands from restaurateurs requesting that the state and localities return some $100 million worth of “fees” (a.k.a., extortion shakedown cash) they collected while not allowing those businesses to even open to the public - a request that could precede a class action suit. According to…

Senator Edward Markey (D-MA) appears to be upholding the bizarre tradition established by most politicians who’ve emerged from the state in the past 100 years: he is showing utter ignorance of, and contempt for, the US Constitution. As Zachary Evans writes for National Review, Markey took to the floor of the Senate mere hours prior to the US Supreme Court confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett.…

“Diversity-concerned” Loyola Marymount University paper “Agency” (sporting a lovely depiction of the all-seeing “eye” in its logo) reports that, earlier this month, the Associated Students of LMU Senate voted to begin impeachment proceedings against a member of the student senate. And this is a very, very unique event at LMU, the Jesuit research school located in Los Angeles - firstly, because…

In a shocking story, Peter Hegarty reports for the East Bay Times that the Lafayette, California school system just threatened to have a 12-year-old boy arrested because he missed 90 minutes of Zoom class. Mark Mastrov, the boy’s father, says he received a letter from the school: ’Out of the blue, we got this letter. It said my son had missed classes, and at the bottom it referenced a state…

If there’s one thing to learn about the behavior of collectivists over the centuries, it is that, without hesitation or shame, they will utilize any vector to gain more power. Case in point: the latest desperate move conducted by CNN, in which we can see that not even “family ties” can save he who dares not conform to the statist agenda.     As The New American’s James Murphy writes,…
