Following news that two police officers were shot, one killed, in San Diego late Thursday night, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump tweeted the following:
“It is only getting worse. People want LAW AND ORDER!”
Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort said in an appearance on "Fox & Friends" Friday morning that part of the problem is an anti-law enforcement attitude “embedded into the Democratic leadership.”
“There’s just this attitude that law enforcement [are] the bad guys and justice is not equal for all,” he said.
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has yet to comment on the shootings.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing as the San Diego Police Department search for all possible suspects.
