Hey, they warned ya: “Don’t mess with Texas!"

The Lonestar State just asked a federal judge to fine Planned Parenthood more than $1 billion after the baby-killing epicenter filed “millions” of fraudulent Medicaid claims.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood in 2022 to obtain at least $10 million in reimbursements after Texas removed the organization from its state program, the Associated Press indicated. Then, on Tuesday, the state presented U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk with a case that attempts to recoup at least $17 million in Medicaid payments for health services that the Texas AG's office says Planned Parenthood fraudulently filed.

In the suit, the state alleges the abortion giant became ineligible to receive payouts from Texas’ Medicaid program in 2017. However, Planned Parenthood reportedly continued to receive millions of dollars from the state via the fraudulent claims, according to Paxton’s complaint

In response, Planned Parenthood insists that regardless of the fact that it wasn’t supposed to be receiving funds, it was the Texas distributor's fault for giving out the money to the tune of more than $1 billion.

According to Planned Parenthood, the fines would have devastating consequences for the organization. claiming that if the judge rules against them in the case, “millions of people nationwide” would be stripped of the ability to get “cancer screenings, birth control, and other essential healthcare" - i.e., abortions - from Planned Parenthood.

Keep in mind that there are plenty of other doctors who provide both cancer screenings and birth control at little or no cost to underserved communities, so who cares if Planned Parenthood can’t offer those services? The part Planned Parenthood really needs to be stripped of is its life-threatening procedures, including the abortions and cross-sex hormone therapy they've dub “essential health care.”

Secretly I’m cheering.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Alexis McGill Johnson told AP, “This baseless case is an active effort to shut down Planned Parenthood health centers.”

Paxton, however, said it was “unthinkable that Planned Parenthood would continue to take advantage of funding knowing that they were not entitled to keep it,” according to the same report.

Time will tell what happens. Will Planned Parenthood have to pay back more than $1 billion, or will they get away with using taxpayer money that they weren’t entitled to?

If the left has it their way, it’s likely the latter will occur.
