During a Sunday Meet the Press interview with the new Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Chuck Todd charged that “many people look at what you’re doing,” with a a planned investigation into influence peddling by President Joe Biden, “and they see that it looks more partisan than professional. That chairman, Congressman James Comer (R-KY) shot back: “I think the only people that see this as a partisan investigation are the media and the hardcore Democrats.”

Earlier, Todd had dismissed Republican plans, to hold votes on term limits and a balanced budget, as “show votes. They’re not going to pass.” To which, Comer countered: “A lot of times, as you know, Chuck, you have to take bills through numerous sessions of Congress before they finally become law.”
