US Bars Entry to Most Foreigners From 26 European Countries; Trump Says EU ‘Failed’ to Take Precautions

In a bid to prevent the introduction of new coronavirus cases from abroad, President Trump announced Wednesday that, starting midnight Friday and for 30 days, restrictions will apply to travel from Europe to the United States, with exemptions for “Americans who have undergone appropriate screenings.”
