In a Sunday discussion the New York Times story on how Russia has put a bounty on U.S. servicemen in Afghanistan, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi charged Russian president Vladimir Putin must be holding something over President Trump: “I don’t know what the Russians have on the President politically, personally, financially, or whatever it is,” she maintained, calling trump a “gift to Putin.”

But instead of challenging her nefarious theory, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos cued her up to elaborate: “You’ve raised that several times now. You said you don’t know what the Russians have on President Trump. But do you believe they have something on him?” After she repeated her points, Stephanopoulos moved on to Joe Biden’s prospects in the election: “What is the greatest threat to Joe Biden’s chance right now?”
