Lesley’s Stahl began her 60 Minutes profile of Trump-aligned Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene by relaying derogatory names the Georgia Republican has been called: “We looked up some words that have been said about you. ‘Crazy,’ ‘Q-clown,’ “Looney Tune,’ ‘unhinged,’ ‘moron.’”
Not surprisingly, Stahl proceeded to recite the usual litany of criticisms of Greene as a promoter of conspiracy theories and threats against former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but Stahl couldn’t resist the standard liberal media mantra on the necessity of raising taxes.
On the debt ceiling, Stahl demanded: “Would you be willing to vote for compromise? In other words, raise some taxes?” Greene replied: “I don’t think we have a revenue problem in Washington. We have a spending problem.” To which Stahl retorted: “You know something? That’s glib. That’s glib.” Stahl soon pressed again for Greene to agree on the need for a take hike.
